Hyperion’s ambitious romantic piano concerto series reaches its 60th issue with a disc dedicated to a man – academic, administrator, organist – now thought of as a fringe figure in the history of French music. Tiberghien plays with fizzing technique and total commitment, especially in the second concerto which really ought to be heard more often. Magnifique!
